220330 Crust update!


Oh so long coming! The second region of Eremis V, the Crust, has a full pass done, a passage for every entry, and a brutal fight with the lambda anxen right at the end. This one definitely felt like more of a drag than any other, but now that delivers our out of the dark for a bit, they can experience the awe and lethal wonder of the next region, the Abyss. I've a specific map semi-laid out for that one, but no writing done, I think I might get RF SRV catalogue up to a cleaner standard before I I venture down, but I'm excited for that. It's good to have another chunk done, even if now it needs hella polish and edit

One of the side regions is being tricksy at present whenever I prod at it. I'm trying to put puzzles in to gate progression instead of a boots roll or Resource check, but as it turns out, writing puzzles that can't be interacted with are hard, doubly so without variables. I'm going back to old choose your own adventure books for design, but if anyone has good mechanic examples or suggestions for how to implement puzzles in book format, I would love to hear them.

On a dev note, it's oddly affirming seeing follows and downloads for this project. I'm playtesting it as a destress (odd I suppose), and it's nice that others have an interest, if fleeting. Any attention and support is appreciated :)

  • Lay out the Abyss
  • fix my printer so it'll print both sides -.- these are thick booklets at double page. 
  • lock down RF SRV catalogue
  • write up the unlock tree for Huldra catalogue.
